Today's young people say, "Tell me,
and I'll forget. Show me, and I may not remember. Involve me, and I'll
understand."
Generations of Hope for Generations to Come is a personal challenge to
all Lutherans who believe in Jesus Christ, the Living Word. This challenge
comes from Linda Bartlett, a woman who has committed most of her adult life to
pro-life ministry based on the Word of God. Linda has spoken across the country
for over 20 years, but she was also listening to both older and younger
generations. She heard a cry for hope--and help.
Nothing has changed since sin entered the world. An older generation has
always been called to pass on the truth of God's power and great deeds. The
older generation has always been called to mentor the younger generation. This
challenge for us comes at a time when the Church is desperately needed
to speak and act the Biblical message of life. Lutherans in the Church have a
unique opportunity to do this using Law and Gospel. We need not fear! God's
Word provides all that every generation needs for any issue of the day. It is
Linda's prayer that this booklet be a useful tool for you as you reach out
across the generations to inspire and encourage.
This resource, by Linda Bartlett, can serve as a tool to
help build a bridge between generations, an encouragement for LFL
leaders, a motivation for parents in a new century, a promise to the
faithful, a reason to take heart! We are called to pass on the truth of
what God has done in our lives. God brings order out of the chaos with
His Word. Jesus is the Word! Because of Jesus, people change, and
changed people change the culture in which they live!
